This website was established in February 2007. It is the scope of this platform to compile available photos done during the research cruises of the first German Fishery Research Vessel after World War II, before they are lost due to various reasons. Meanwhile, public visibility of the photos via internet encouraged former participants of "Anton Dohrn" cruises to send their own photos for incorporation in this website. Up to now, this website seems to be the only one worldwide which has so much photo information on a historic research vessel. If you have slides, movies or photos taken on cruises of the old "Anton Dohrn" during the 1950s - 1970s, please make these available to this website. The growing process of www.anton-dohrn.de can be followed from the "Photo archaeology" in this website. |
